Overview

Ten Hill Place Hotel is one of Edinburgh’s premier city centre hotels just 0.5 miles from Edinburgh Waverley Rail Station. Opened in 2006, this 4-star modern hotel is situated in a quiet Georgian square, still within walking distance of all the city’s main attractions - 5 minutes’ walk from the Royal Mile, the focal point of the annual Edinburgh Festival and Edinburgh’s main shopping area of Princes Street, overlooked by the iconic Edinburgh Castle, only a 15 minute walk away.

Ten Hill Place Hotel is owned by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and all profits made from the Hotel are invested into the training of surgeons worldwide.

You can stay well connected with free Wi-Fi throughout the Hotel.

A lot of thought and care has gone into creating the air-conditioned bedrooms. A palette of calming colours and textures provides each room with a warm richness. Each well-equipped and spacious room has a sleek bathroom and a flat-screen TV with Freeview channels. Beds are all king or super-king with allergy-free duvets and pillows and a choice of soft or firm mattresses. Personal safes, ironing boards, hairdryers, tea, coffee and shortbread are standard in all rooms. The skyline rooms also include an exercise bike, towelling robes and slippers.

No. Ten Restaurant serves dinner from 5pm and has recently received its first AA rosette for culinary excellence. 10 Wine Bar is open from midday and serves light lunches and evening meals as well as a selection of wines, locally produced beers and spirits.

According to independent reviews, Ten Hill Place Hotel is located in our guest’s favourite part of Edinburgh.

We currently have the highest accolade in green tourism awards and aim to be a sustainable and eco-friendly hotel.

Just a fine choice for a whistle-stop in Edinburgh with a great value-to-price ratio. Breakfast was amazing, really a highlight of the stay. Make sure to try the local breakfast options!

Everything is good, great value, bright hotel overall. The double room is silent and spotless. Exceptional service, the breakfast is tasty and enormous. Parking is onsite. The location is decent, within walking distance of Co-op Food. ...

Modern, clean, helpful staff, good it facilities, excellent breakfast and a basic menu available much of the time, good information file in the room.

Marked the comfort down as 'fair' because we had booked a double 'de luxe' room which turned out to be only really suitable as a single room. Necessary to move around it sideways between the cramped furnishings. Difficult to know how one would go about finding out about the specific room when booking on line. Would use the hotel again but only by direct booking with firm information about the room. This difficulty is why we could only recommend it with reservations.

I greatly enjoyed this property - beautifully appointed hotel.

The hotel was impeccably clean with a trendy restaurant. The staff were very caring, ready to any request. The breakfast was savoury and enormous with black pudding and also porridge, worth the price. The location was excellent in the...

Room was very comfortable, if small. Good distance from local attractions. We got a good price for our room.

Hotel staff weren't overly friendly, particularly wait staff in restaurant- it was difficult to make eye contact to ask for tea / coffee etc. The location was good in terms of close to the city centre and sights of Edinburgh, however it was a very seedy part of town: didn't feel completely safe walking to or from the hotel. Breakfast was far too expensive for what was on offer, and not of very high quality. Car parking at the hotel was very expensive.
